Dame Vivienne Westwood has been remembered as a 'true revolutionary and rebellious force in fashion' following her death aged 81. The pioneering fashion designer died peacefully surrounded by her family in Clapham, south London, on Thursday, her representatives said in a statement. She first made a name for herself on the fashion scene in the 1970s, with her androgynous designs, slogan t-shirts and irreverent attitude towards the establishment. But throughout her long career in fashion, Dame Vivienne continued creating surprising, fascinating and jaw-dropping looks. Here, we take a look at some of her most well-known outfits. Dame Vivienne Westwood, the godmother of punk who changed the fashion world forever, has died at the age of 81. The 'undisputed Queen of British fashion' died peacefully surrounded by her family in Clapham, South London, her fashion house revealed yesterday. Dame Vivienne was one of the most influential British fashion designers of the 20th century, cultivating the punk rock movement with her unapologetically political designs. As the person who dressed the Sex Pistols, Dame Vivienne was synonymous with 1970s punk rock, a rebel spirit that stuck with her throughout her career including going commando when receiving her OBE from the Queen. Incredibly her career began when she was a primary school teacher, making jewellery and then dresses in her spare time after marrying Hoover engineer Derek Westwood. Her life changed when she met and married second husband Malcolm McLaren, with the couple finding fame with their 'Sex' boutique on the King's Road and dressing bands including the New York Dolls and then the Pistols.

Aerosmith star Steven Tyler (left) has been accused in a lawsuit of sexually abusing an underage girl when she was 16 and he was 25 in the 1970s. Julia Holcomb (right) filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles in the final days of a California law that temporarily lifts the statute of limitations for such claims under a 'look-back' window that ends on Saturday. The suit, first reported by Rolling Stone, does not name Tyler, identifying him as 'Defendant Doe,' but it quotes directly from Tyler's 2011 memoir (inset) describing the relationship. Holcomb has also previously spoken publicly about her alleged relationship with the rock star.

Police found bone fragments belonging to Alfred Milne and Eric Stubbs who died after their RAF Mosquito crashed south of Middlesbrough in 1944 - five miles from Kenneth Ward's home. Pilot Milne, had recently married Gwendoline Margaret Oliver. He and Stubbs were taking the Mosquito from Suffolk to Ayreshire with a new weapon designed by Dambusters creator Barnes Wallis.

Michael Jackson 's three children have been seen all together while enjoying the fresh snow in Lake Tahoe, California on Thursday. The trio were taking snowmobiles out for a run. Police researchers have rediscovered a walking stick, carved with the face of the man believed to have mutilated and killed five women in Whitechapel, London in 1888. The mass murderer terrorised the streets of Whitechapel in 1888 and his mystery identity has long been a site of intrigue for people in Britain and around the globe. It is believed the walking stick, previously thought to have been lost, was handed over to Chief Inspector Frederick Abberline after his team of seven officers when he was taken off the case in 1889.

In a year when our work-life balance is still the focus of much debate, it might be surprising that the top television show is about... an office. Severance, a dystopian series in which workers have their minds and memories 'severed' between their office and personal lives, has been crowned the top TV show of 2022 by RadioTimes.com. The Apple TV+ show led a top ten dominated by streaming services, which won seven spots.

Blink EV charging stations in Los Angeles are being overrun with homeless encampments, stopping drivers from charging their $60,000 cars. Alexandra Datig shared a video of her driving in downtown LA on Wednesday, showing charging stations surrounded by trash and tents. Los Angeles had 62,851 registered electric vehicles last year, with city officials projecting even more in 2022. The boom has meant that charging stations have popped up throughout the city, with about 4,296 public stations installed so far, according to PlugShare.com. Los Angeles' vagrancy crisis is also booming two weeks after newly-elected Mayor Karen Bass declared a state of emergency over the situation. More than 69,000 homeless people currently live in the city.

The world is mourning an icon after Pele's death aged 82, but also celebrating a remarkable life of man blessed with talent like no other. Many fans of recent generations will not have been able to watch the Brazilian genius in full flight, but fortunately there is still plenty of footage out there to enjoy.  Regarded by many as the greatest footballer to ever play the game, cast your eye over the clips that show just what a phenomenon he was. 

Photographer Anne-Marie Scheepers, 52, took the pictures while visiting the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Scheepers, from Johannesburg, said she was on an eight-day trip to Skukuza, the main camp in Kruger, where they stayed in the camping area. She said: 'As we were on our way from Lower-Sable, passing Sunset Dam, I noticed something strange and asked my friend if he would reverse so I could look again .I saw the crocodile with another crocodile in its mouth and at first, thought it was part of a mating ritual. But when I looked through the lens, I saw the blood on the big crocs teeth. It became clear to us that this was no mating ritual, but rather an attack.'

In a post shared to Facebook, Jessica shared the family's distressing ordeal. The blizzard of the century has devastated Buffalo, killing 39 people. Disney officials have release a new set of behavior rules for visitors to ensure their experiences at 'The Happiest Place on Earth' lives up to expectations. The new 'courtesy' section appeared earlier this month on the Disneyland and Disney World websites. And there's a sterner warning for non-abiding visitors: 'Be the magic you want to see in the world. Mother-of-four, Charlotte Green, 26, of Lewisham, captured her daughter clasping onto an asthma pump while short of air, just two months after she was taken to hospital and had oxygen received through her nose until she could breathe by herself.

Stargazers have been capturing some spectacular images of a rare astronomical event that means every planet in the solar system is visible in the night sky at the same time. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn can all be seen with the naked eye, while Uranus and Neptune are visible with binoculars or a telescope. Astronomer Dr Gianluca Masi shared a picture he took of the five planets that could be seen with the naked eye, while other skywatchers across the world also captured images of the 'planet parade'. He took it from the roof of a building in Rome, Italy last night, using a camera with special lenses.

The woman was with another man on a motorbike when they noticed a window was slightly rolled down on a vehicle parked on a street in Brisbane on Thursday (left and right). The man allegedly tried to break into the car while the woman remained on the bike before they were confronted by the owner of the car. Pool technician David Brain said he had left the window partially rolled down while he went to do a job at a client's house.

The Wildlife Trusts' annual marine review has highlighted some of the most extraordinary wildlife sightings in UK waters this year. Top sightings include a colourful sea slug spotted in UK waters for the first time. The slug, called Babakina anadoni, was found by a diver off the coast of the Isles of Scilly, an archipelago southwest of Cornwall on July 29. It's just 0.8 of an inch (2cm) long, less than half the size of a little finger, and is covered with an array of jewel-like 'cerata'. Also included in the list is a swordfish that turned up off the Isle of Man in August, and a 100-year-old Greenland shark that washed up on these shores for only the second time ever. But Wildlife Trusts has warned of 'huge threats to marine life', including avian flu that has killed tens of thousands of seabirds.

From the oldest-known stegosaur to frogs smaller than a penny, scientists at the Natural History Museum in London have uncovered 351 new animal and plant species this year. While these creatures may have already been observed by humans around the world, 2022 saw them being officially named and documented, aiding their protection for future generations. They were mostly invertebrates - as these make up the majority of the animals on Earth - with hundreds of new species of beetle, moth, stick insect and wasp, but also fish, frogs and minerals. Fossil discoveries also resulted in the identification of new species of dinosaurs and ancient mammals, including the oldest lizard known to science.
